About Stomach Cancer


Stomach Cancer is the term used to describe the start of Tumor in the GI (gastrointestinal) tract and stomach. Adenocarcinomas of stomach cancer is the most common. This starts from the cancer cells in the mucosa, which is the lining of the inner layer of stomach.

The people who diagnosed with stomach cancer rarely have symptoms at the initial stage of the disease that's why stomach cancer can be difficult to detect early. However, some symptoms include stomach pain, feeling full or swelling, nausea, vomiting, and weight loss.

Diagnosing gastrointestinal / stomach cancer tests may include physical examinations, GI series, up endoscopy, CT scan, MRI, and laboratory tests.

As with other cancers, the main treatment for stomach cancer are surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation therapy. Often the doctor will decide that the best approach with the involvement of two or more methods of treatment.
