Since health is a worldwide concern, there should be some international body which takes care of every aspect of it.
Who does this?
It is the WHO or the World Health Organization whose main work it is to act as a worldwide authority on international public health.
It was established on 7th April 1948, and since then it has been doing yeoman service towards the people of the earth. It is headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland.
Its slogan: "is the attainment by all peoples of the highest possible level of health" is followed as an objective by the organization.
The current head of the WHO is Dr Margaret Chan
